These times are too fast for me to comprehend

Wow, really? Lame.

Is it really that slow? Damn.

Still faster than my cruiser. And yet, I still thought it was unacceptably slow when I hoped out of one into the other.
The main problem, and I was going to write this whole big post on it...but didn’t...is that it doesn’t have usuable power in the midrange for its weight and mission.
Same basic power delivery to a BRZ up to 4000 rpm but with 300 lbs more weight and 2 more driven wheels.
Add in the weight and elevation that goes along with the adventure theme and it becomes tedious. Mix in situations that require wheel torque (mild off roading) and it becomes a liability.

Considering my 2002 Outback Sport had 165 HP and probably weighed less, it had the exact same acceleration numbers. I guess we have become accustomed to much quicker cars. Subaru is telling us to slow down and vape more.

Those rangers might be the most dangerous things on expressways. Regularly see them doing 20mph under the limit.

Yeah, they may not necessarily need to go full WRX, but they do need to do something about the power issues.
BTW, how far are you from the Colorado border?

The issue with the XV is that it has bigger tires and no torque. Solution? Put the 3.6 in it.

Nearly painfully slow. I have some friends with them and I am always much happier in my WRX ground clearance be damned! I also drove a newer forester up and down the canyon from PC to slc and I have never wanted to ditch a car on the side of the road and walk the rest of the way more

Not... So close. I’m in salt lake area

10.3 seconds?!?!?!?!?!?!
I’ve driven a cutaway faster than that.

Ah, bummer. I’m rallying in Rangely this weekend

Worst mistake of my day was commenting in that thread....
I like our Crosstrek.

I don’t think so, but I manushift ours a lot. Its completely adequate. Never had any issues merging, either.

Nothing’s close to Rangely...

Dinosaur National Monument, which is awesome

I really like them too, I just wish they had a little more pep. If it got to 60 in, say, the mid 7's then it would probably be my next car.

And watch the mpgs fall.
I now own two Subaru, a WRX and a 3.6 Outback. Over three years, the WRX has averaged 19.1 mpg. Over 1,200 miles, the Outback has returned 22.1 mpg.

I wish they’d just make an xt version, like the Fozzy. Except for the whole Subaru XV XT thing....

I just wish they made them with a real auto trans if not a manual. The CVT really blows and then you add the extra weight of the Forester and it is even worse. They just can’t get the pep they need with that CVT

Yup.... that’s about the only thing close-by.......
Are you in colorado too??

I am as of about 5 minutes ago

Yeah, you’re pretty far from just about everything. I’ll wave from Denver.
